PSYCHOLOGICAL NEEDS AND MOTIVATIONS OF OLDER ADULTS IN VIDEO GAMES
For my Master’s thesis, I chose to focus on a topic that I find very interesting and that is often underrepresented in academic literature: the relationship between adults 50+ and video games.
With the objective of investigating older adults’ preconceived ideas about video games, as well as what type of content they would prefer, I conducted two psychological studies based on previous literature about video game motivation and preference. One of them yielded statistically significant results, which was very exciting!

Below is the deck of slides that I used when presenting and defending my thesis. It goes through the context, method, and results of the studies, as well as discussing the output of the project which was a series of suggestions for game developers based on the findings. If you are interested in the project, I recommend reading the full paper for all the details and context surrounding the studies.
